🚀 Getting started

This page covers what every Zoo script has in common. Each script's own page lists what is special about it.

Download

After you buy a script, Cfx.re grants it to your account. Sign in at portal.cfx.re with the same Cfx.re account you used at checkout, open Assets, then Granted Assets, and download the resource there.

Install

1. Put the resource folder in your server's resources folder.

2. Keep the folder name exactly as it ships. Most Zoo resources are name-locked: a renamed folder makes the resource stop on start.

3. Add it to server.cfg after your framework (its core and its inventory) and oxmysql:

   ensure oxmysql
   ensure vorp_core        # or rsg-core, or tpz_core
   ensure zoo_the_script

4. Read the script's own page for anything it adds: items, pictures, a second resource it needs.

5. Start the server. Database tables are created on the first start, so there is almost never an SQL file to run.

Items are read once

An inventory reads its item list only while it starts. When a script adds items on its first start, the console says so: restart the server once more before you give the items out.

Where a script supports more than one framework it finds the one that is running by itself. Name the framework in its config only if you keep a second one installed but stopped.

What is open and what is protected

The code is protected by Cfx.re Asset Escrow. The config files, language files, price lists and pictures are left open, so you can change every setting, translate every line and edit every price without touching the protected code.

Free helper resources

Some scripts use a small free resource for their menus and notices. They are open source on GitHub.

• zoo_input: the input and menu windows. Required by Scale, optional for Doctor.
• zoo_notifications: the notification system. Required by Landmines.

Updating

Most Zoo scripts check their version when the server starts and print a notice in the console when an update is out. Download the new version from the same Granted Assets page. Before you replace a folder, keep a copy of your config files so you can put your settings back.
